Permaculture and Dance

Join us for a week of Permaculture/yoga/dance and Tai Chi. Over six days we will dive into movement, stillness, work and play; cultivating space and building skills while maintaining our own practice or self-care. Each day will offer movement study and meditation along with work and practical skills.

We will be working on various cob projects, learning the techniques of cob building and various applications. There are many cob experiments at Leviathan to review and study from. This is an invitation to learn from my mistakes.

Daily practice will include Yoga, Tai Chi, dance and 3 meditation times per day offered throughout the week.Participants are not required to meditate, however, it is expected that they will be quiet during the three times per day. This quiet-time gives freedom to rest. There is no ‘fear-of-missing-out,’ and hence deep restorative rest can take place. This is an opportunity to practise getting up from the cushion and maintaining awareness in all of our actions whether it be movement study or the labour of cob work.

$425 including camping and all meals. The food is extraordinary, with a strong emphasis on local and organic. All food allergies are respected.

Daily Schedule:

Day 1:
7am – Meditation
8am – Breakfast
9:00am – Project Orientation (overview of land, plans, projects, permaculture principles, join the cobb facilitators already in progress. )
12-1pm Lunch
1-2pm meditation
2 – 5 pm – Cobb afternoon
6 pm – Dinner
7-8 meditation
8-9 yin yoga
8-11pm sauna

Day 2:
7am – Meditation
8am – Breakfast
9-10 – Tai Chi
11 – Permaculture views and applications
12-1 Lunch
1-2pm – meditation
2-3 – 5pm – Permaculture Work (gardening)
6 pm – Dinner
7-8 -meditation
8 pm – Contact class for one hour leading to a Jam

Day 3:
7am – Meditation
8am – Breakfast
9-11 – Tai Chi and Contact Improv basics
11-12 – Soil class
12 – Lunch
1-2 – Meditation
2-3 – Yoga
3- 5- cobb
6 pm – Dinner
7-8- meditation
8 pm – Dance or yin yoga

Day 4:
7am – Meditation
8am – Breakfast
9-12 – Cob or Garden
12 – Lunch
1-2- meditation
2 – 5:30pm – Cob or Garden
6 pm – Dinner
8 pm – Contact Jam

Day 5:
7am – Meditation
8am – Breakfast
9am – Cobbfest – Dancing in the Mud (and making things too)
12 – Lunch
1-2- meditation
2-3pm – Tai Chi
3-6pm – mushroom talk
6 pm – Dinner

Day 6: Integration
7am – Meditation
8am – Breakfast
9-1030am – Yoga
1030-12 – Permaculture Work Party
12 lunch
1-2-meditation
2-6 swim at the beach/visit Ted’s permaculture garden
6 pm – Dinner
8 pm – Dance Jam

Please Note: There are three meditation times per day offered in this event. No one is compelled to participate however it is requested that people refrain from conversation during these times. We will be meditating in the studio.
